Victoria and Albert Museum, that´s in the city of London and is known as the V&A, is in the district of South Kensington and it´s the biggest decorative art and design museum in the world and it presents a collection in its galleries of over 4,5 million objects.
The museum was named after Prince Albert and Queen Victoria and it was founded in 1852 and its collection goes through five thousand years through art.
The works that you can observe are made out of ceramic, glass, fabrics and there´s also costumes, silver objects, steel, jewels, furniture, drawings, paintings, sculptures, medieval objects, prints and photographs. There´s also the Italian renaissance art collection which is the biggest outside of Italy.
On the other hand, there´s also one of the most important Asian art collections in Europe.
For all of these reasons the Victoria and Albert Museum is, undoubtedly, one of the most important ones and visiting it if you´re in the city is a must.
