María Luisa Park Seville

María Luisa Park (Parque María Luisa in Spanish) was a forest for leisure annexed to the gardens of San Telmo Palace, old property of the Dukes of Montpensier. The land of the current park were donated to the city by princess Doña María Luisa (hence its name) making it into the main home of the festivities of the Universal Exhibition of Seville in 1929.

The park can be seen by foot, by bicycle, skateboard, skates and in a cart pulled by horses. You can´t miss a walk in the spectacular Plaza de España (located on the north side), scene of various adventure movies. Here it is possible to rent small boats to see the pond which surrounds it.

The route is totally safe. On the other side of the park there´s the Plaza de América, flanked by the Museum of Arts and Customs and the Archeological Museum. Full of pigeons, you can take cover in one of the kiosks located on the edges of the park.

The Avenida de los Plátanos (spectacular in autumn), the roundabout of the Becquer brothers, with a suggestive romantic sculpture, and the pond of the ducks and its multiple hundred year-old trees, will delight both young and not-so.young. María Luisa park is close to the most central apartments in Seville
