But… these days are gone! Read on for our favorite turkey alternatives that will ensure no one will go unsatisfied this Thanksgiving, meat-free meals that can be just as rich and scrumptious as any of the classic holiday dish.

Make the crust a tiny bit healthier by opting for whole-wheat flour and going easy on the Parmesan cheese.

This slightly sweet, slightly sour green bean recipe takes a few minutes to make, as you just steam these veggies while you heat the vinegar and sugar until it dissolves. This dish is great served at room temperature, so make it ahead of time and let the green beans bathe in the dressing, soaking up flavor.

The secret is 3 pounds of frozen spinach, which is broken up into the creamy base until it absorbs all of the wonderful sauce, which is made by sautéed onions, flour, nutmeg, cream and milk, finalizing it with parmesan cheese. Yum!
