Málaga Cathedral is a unique work of architecture that must be visited if in the city. It´s Renaissance style makes it magic and the grandeur of its construction leaves all the tourists with their mouths open. Its construction lasted almost two centuries and despite starting in 1528 it´s not even fully finished today.
A curiosity of this building is that it´s named, informally, “La Manquita” because in its original plan the the church had two towers, but one was never finished and that´s why the people from Málaga refer to it as that in a kind way, because “manco” means missing an arm.
In its interior it has works of art of great historical and cultural value, but the most sought after thing by the tourists and foreigners is the Cathedral Museum which is located right there, in the Chapiter Room which, in itself, is divided in two rooms. In one we can see the works of art and in the other different objects related to religion itself, and also some ceramic works and other ivory objects.
The Cathedral and its museum are a must see of the Spanish city. Rent apartments in Málaga and, map in hand, go out and see this beautiful city that has so much that will surprise you.
