The Hobby Show which is celebrated around the whole of Italy but which has its main focus point in Rome, is probably the most lovely and original of the events which are celebrated around Europe. The 2011 edition will take place between the 14th and 16th of October but, if you miss it, remember that there´s another one next year and that the fair is near-itinerant, because it goes around the grand majority of Italian cities.
With the subtitle of ´Fine Arts and Manual Creation Salon´, this show gathers all those who make of crafts or manual labour their very own hobby, although there might even be someone who makes a business out of it. At the show, as well as the fans, the material providers also assist. They show their novelties, take courses and workshops and, of course, they show, through theme exhibitions, the result of the crafts.
Beads, wool, string, wire or cardboards are the protagonists for three days. Remember that this show is ideal for those who make manual labour and also it´s recommended for children, especially those who are restless and nervous. If you visit the Eternal City during the second fortnight of October, don´t miss out on the Hobby Show. Also, remember to book some of the excellent apartments in Rome where you´ll be able to begin, carry on or finish a nice craft.
