In the Hungarian capital there´s a castle which is famous for its history, Buda Castle. Buda gets its name from the high part of the hill where the construction is and Pest is the flat part of the city, at the other side of the river.
The Castle was built in the 13th century by the order of the king who ordered built many fortresses to protect themselves from the Tartar invasion of that period. That´s how the castle was created, that we can visit today in Budapest.
Buda, little by little, converted itself in a business centre with important regional business and that´s why many kings lived there and dedicated themselves to protect the property. Three centuries later, a revolutionary monarch, decorated all the façades of the building with Renaissance art and the castle became an artistic centre without wanting to. That way, it converted itself into the centre of all cultural activity of Eastern and Central Europe.
From 1987 it was considered World Heritage Site by UNESCO and today it constitutes a tourist point that you should not miss if you rented apartments in Budapest and you´re walking in the beautiful Hungarian capital.
