Casa Labra is a classic restaurant in Madrid which has been open since the 19th century and since then it´s been a favourite of all the people from Madrid and the tourists who come to visit the city.
Its speciality are the cod dishes and the croquettes that are prepared with this type of fish. Open in 1860, nearly a century later in 1947, the Molina family bought the place and are still the owners today. After three generations, Manuel Molina Hernández is who is in charge of the restaurant today.
But even though all the typical and classic dishes are prepared with cod, they offer a varied menu for all tastes.
The atmosphere of the place is really magical and can take one to another time, although it´s still modern and exclusively luxurious.
On the façade of the restaurant there´s a bronze plaque that indicates that in 1878, in this place, the Spanish Socialist Party was founded (PSOE) by Pablo Iglesias so, consequently, this place is part of the history of Madrid, not only in its dishes but politically too.
