How necessary fashion is for us and how important it is for us to be aware of it. F**k Paris! Yes Berlin! As the catwalk slogan says: “step into the underground!” This parade is marked by trends and irreverent, urban designs, all influenced by the “underground” fashion. The catwalk will take place in two different underground travels; one will be the Street-Couture and the other U-Couture. More than twenty different brands and exclusive designers will show the latest in street urban and sports fashion, and of course, influenced by the culture of rock, gothic, punk and pin-up aesthetic among others. Rockstar Models agency’s girls and boys will put into movement and madness to all these designs on a spectacular fashion show.
But beyond all the fashion’s good adjectives and curiosities, we must admit that Chevrolet, once again, sponsors the event. And while on one hand, the challenge generated by some brands on their designs and trends are an interesting observation, on the other, we should say that all the “underground style” this festival shows is nothing but corporate version of an “underground style” that stopped existing long ago. This situation is just another example of how counter-cultures and subcultures are assimilated, or rather, swallowed up by the mass media. This is nothing new. But with the wonders of cyberspace, these processes are increasingly greedy, violent and quick.
