Imperial War Museum

The Imperial War Museum is a national museum in Great Britain and it distributes itself in five different places, three of which are in the city of London. The place, which opened its doors during the First World War in 1917, was founded with the intention of remembering the effort of the war and the sacrifice of Great Britain and the Empire.

 

Today, the museum has the mission of informing the people and allowing them to understand modern way and its impact in different societies and individuals in particular.

 

Currently, the museum is located in the Bethlem Royal Hospital which is in Southwark and, during the Second World War, the place expanded notably.

 

Inside, the visitors can enjoy arms which are historical and present, observe real-size aeroplanes that were used in different wars, war tanks and historical documents.
