The Pigeon Detectives in Vienna
If you like indie rock, it´s impossible that you don´t know who The Pigeon Detectives are, because since they created the band in 2004, they haven´t stopped growing, presenting hits and playing shows around the world. The band was born in West Yorkshire, in England, and it quickly became one of the leaders of the indie scene around the world, with catchy songs that were played dozens of times by DJs from all over the world, in clubs and on the radio. The band has already played at Reading and Leeds festivals, two of the most important and prestigious rock festivals around the world and, in a column in the English magazine NME, their gig was catalogued as one that could be on the main stage at Reading and Leeds next year. The Pigeon Detectives released their first album in 2007 with ´Wait for Me´. In 2008 they released ´Emergency´ and, after taking some time to relax and put their ideas down on paper, in April 2011 they released their latest album, ´Up, Guards And At ´Em!´, which was well received by critics and fans alike. Today, the band is made up by Matt Bowman on vocals, Oliver Main and Ryan Wilson on guitar, Dave Best on the bass, Jimmi Naylor on the drums and Albert Ross on the keyboard. The latter is the only one that wasn´t in the band when they began, since he only joined them in 2010. Julius Caesar Opera in Helsinki
The emperor Julius Caesar arrives in Egypt once more in one of the most epic operas, and will be doing so until the month of February at the Finnish National Opera. For five days we will be able to enjoy the wonderful opera ´Julius Caesar´ (´Giulio Cesare in Egitto´ in Italian) in Helsinki, so you have to hurry and buy tickets. Julius Caesar is undoubtedly a delight to see, endorsed by the many years of success that the original opera composed by Georg Friedrich Händel and written by Nicola Francesco Haym has had. The Finnish National Opera will be the witness to one of the most important operas of all time. It was founded in 1911 but, today, it has a modern infrastructure prepared for all types of shows. It holds 300 plays every year, of which 190 it produces. The original ´Giulio Cesare in Egitto´, of baroque style, was premiered on February 20th 1724 in London and, early 290 years later, we can see the new version directed by Ville Saukkonen at the Helsinki Opera. When Julius Caesar arrives in Egypt he finds something more majestic than the pyramids, the unique Cleopatra. The nature of one of the most important meetings in the history of mankind is filled with a beautiful music that tells the drama and the emotion of unforgettable scenes. Cleopatra is undoubtedly the most interesting and versatile character in the opera. At first, she tries to seduce Julius Caesar just to gain his throne, but then she falls in love and romance comes to life, filling the stage with sensuality, drama and war. The new opera has...Juana de Aizpuru Madrid
