The museum is the hub for great Italian paintings by renowned artists of the past seventeenth century and it also exposes furniture, carpets, weapons, watches, jewelry which are extremely delightful and soothing to our eyes. The floor of the museum is covered with precious and costly marbles that exhibits the glory of golden years in Milan. The rooms are highly decorated and designed with stucco and wood panelings, various other forms of Italian art and also with antique paintings of Italian renaissance. It is one of the oldest and most important museums of Milan because it has great forms of Italian art works and other precious paintings and artistic forms buried in it. This museum was built in nineteenth century by Giacomo Poldi Pezzoli, an aristocrat of the nineteenth century and is located in the center of the Milan city at Via Manzoni. The museum was opened for the general public from 1881 and since then thousands of tourists have visited this museum and reported the sense of pleasure and joy they experienced there. During the Second World War the museum lost its identity due to large scale demolitions but after this war the museum regained its importance due to numerous repair works carried upon it.
The museum contains unique Lombard antiques and the furniture made by the artisans. One can also notice the Italian lace collections with Ivory upholstery and precious pieces of glass from Murano. Unique, luxurious collections of antique clocks from the sixteenth to nineteenth century are also exposed here. Apart from the inestimable collections of the museum, the main reason for the popularity of this building is because of its unequal justice with the modern art forms which are equally distinctive and worthy.
The museum is the example of extraordinary and astonishing works by some of the renowned artists which came in notice several years back. Several exhibitions are also organized in the museum which displays the innovative weapons, tapestries and other precious forms of jewels. The compilation of porcelain stuffs is the only one in itself and is the most popular collection here. The armory and the library with around 3500 printed volumes from different centuries are also trendy amongst the visitors.
