Many of the museums in Málaga are of the most important that Spain has and one of the most visited in the city is, undoubtedly, the Taurine Museum Antonio Ordóñez, because it´s in charge of presenting objects and the history of bullfighting.
The place, which is located in the Bullring of “La Malagueta”, has a large amount of documents and photographs that illustrate and will allow the visitor to get to know the different periods that this important cultural movement went through in Málaga.
One of the most important sections is the one that tells the story of “El Africano”, called Manuel Ballón, who was the bullfighter who invented the art of bullfighting with a sword and a cap, which is used in bullfighting today.
In the Taurine Museum one can enjoy different types of dresses, swords, capes and objects that were used by some of Málaga´s most famous bullfighters but also from bullfighters around world. On the second floor there´s a section dedicated exclusively to Eduardo Liceaga, a Mexican bullfighter that died after being gored in 1946 like, a century before, had happened to Mariano Tornero.
You can visit the museum but, before, you should rent apartments in Málaga.
