Holocaust Memorial Budapest

The Holocaust Memorial Centre was conceived as a monument which paid tribute to the more than half a million Jews who were murdered in Nazi concentration camps during the Second World War.

Of a majestic architecture, it´s qualified as one of the best memorial museums in the world, for its careful preservation of the objects and files which gather the history of what was one of the most tragic periods in humanity.

Through screens and informative panels, it tells the story which began in 1938, when the State deprived the Jews of rights, so that after, in 1944, after the Nazi invasion, they had their possessions taken away and they began to be detained and sent to the concentration camps of Auschwitz and Birkenau.

You can get to the museum by the romantic trams or by metro, at Ferenc Körút M stop on the number 3 line. The opening hours are from Tuesday to Sunday from 10am until 6pm. There are special prices for over 62s, as well as for children.

If you rent apartments in Budapest this autumn, don´t forget to see this great museum which remembers the inhumanity and meaningless hatred which ended the lives of so many human beings.
