Barcelona Zoo is not just one of the first of its kind in Europe but was also the home of the late Snow Flake, a peculiar and almost unique gorilla due to the fact that he was an albino.
Today, this place has various differentiated areas among which we can see the ´Land of Dragons´, where there are all types of amphibians, ´Primate Gallery´, ´Gorilla Space´, which is a kids´ favourite, ´Titís Gallery´ or the ´Terrarium´, where snakes of all sizes lay in the sun in a tropical ecosystem.
Also, Barcelona Zoo pays special attention to educational activities directed to the whole family without forgetting the investigation projects that a place like this requires. Regarding the animals, it works according to the preservation of the necessary flora so that all the inhabitants at the zoo feel at home, like if they were in their original habitat. And, if this wasn´t enough, the zoo is full of pretty sculptures that are scattered around the premises.
Families with children, just after they´ve dropped off their luggage at their apartments in Barcelona must come to this zoo located at the Parc de la Ciutadella. Fun is guaranteed.
