Yona Friedman in Budapest
The Ludwig Museum in Budapest once again proposes an important retrospective exhibition, which presents the itinerary of artistic investigation and creation of the famous Hungarian architect and philosopher Yona Friedman. The exhibition will open its doors on the 28th of October and can be visited until the 8th of January 2012, from Tuesday to Sunday from 10am until 8pm. Yona Friedman was born in Budapest in 1923. During the Second World war, forced to escape due to the Nazi occupation, he went into exile to the city of Haifa, where he lived for over a decade before moving to Paris in 1957. In 1966 he obtained French citizenship and he established himself permanently there. It was during 1956, during the 10th Modern Architecture Congress (which took place in Dubrovnik), that he gave his inaugural contribution to architectonic theory and urban development, with his ´Manifest of Mobile Architecture´, which contributed definitively to the fixation of certain canons of contemporary urban planning. When, in 1958, he finally published his ´Mobile Architecture´ manifesto, he focused himself not as much on the mobility of the constructions but rather on a new mobility of the citizens, more open and free. It was the possibility of building structures which didn´t determine or guide rigidly the movement of the people, so that they could move in different ways around these spaces. As well as a new form of conceiving the places, it was an interesting metaphor of the modern man (and of the mobility of societies) and a new interpretation of the relation between the spaces which they go through and the ones they live in....Telekom Bónusz Electronic Music Festival in Budapest

Autumn Festival in Budapest
Autumn in Budapest means festival, and between the 8th and 17th of October, the Autumn Festival takes place there, where contemporary art an artists from 12 countries will gather and show new trends in dance, music, digital art and photography. This festival is now has been going on for twenty years in Europe´s festival programme and it has achieved a position which attracts contemporary art lovers from all over Europe who will enjoy this year with its 90 programmes of music, opera, dance, theatre and film. The abundant programme has interesting proposals, among which we can find the Austrian futurepop duo Mind.in.a.box, which will be playing on the 16th at Diesel Club. This electronic music band has established itself quickly on the world map, imposing new sound mixes which the two members, Stefan Poiss and Marcus Hadwiger, have created from their love of videogames, science fiction and futuristic imagination. Their album ´Lost Alone´ is already a classic among the fans and worshipers of this danceable electronic music genre. Another of the acts to highlight is New Music Studio 1970-1980, which presents itself with the concert of László Vidovszky and László Sáry, among eight other interpreters who will be on stage on the 15th of October at the Millenáris Teátrum. New Music Studio was founded in 1970 to gather the generation of post-war, avant-garde musicians. This musical forum allowed the spreading and experimentation of contemporary avant-garde music and that musicians such as Pierre Boulez and Karlheinz Stockhausen could expose their ideas on music.
