Georgios Kyriacos Panayiotou is the real name of George Michael, whose Greco-Cypriot parents moved to England in the late 50´s and three years later their eldest son was born. His meeting with Andrew Ridgeley in high school accelerated the process that led him to youth clubs in the area of Stanmmore and Watford, where he played music and worked as a DJ. At the same time, he formed a ska band with Ridgeley that was completely unnoticed. In 1981 he produced his first hit with Ridgeley. With whom he formed a duo called “Wham”! In 1983 he hit the musical scene with the band´s first album called “Fantastic”, reaching in a few days the top ranking for British music that catapulted him to fame. Museum of Applied Arts in Budapest

The building is four stories high with a strong base and a basement and is supported by a tough beam. It was built between 1893 and 1896, designed by two important architects Odon Lechner and Gyula Pártos, who did everything to the building a master designer could do. It’s a typical building with a colorful spectacle of a large glass hall which attracts everybody’s attentions. The palace’s inauguration took place in a millennium year on 25th October. This place has always been a matter of debate on some important aspects as well as few unquestionable facts. Museum’s artifact collection includes clothing and textiles in the forms representing different eras of Europe and the world. The core collection however consists of masterpieces of applied arts from Middle ages to the present day. The museum’s immense collections which are a result of several donations, charities and purchases are divided into ten separate groups. These groups include costumes, carpets, clothing, accessories, tools and many others tools of history. Collections and Treasures, Esterházy Treasures are two permanent exhibitions at this place but there are many temporary exhibitions also. High artistic standards and custom decorative art forms of the structure of the museum are not hidden from the visitor’s eyes.
