5 tips to keep on enjoying your vacations

Putting aside any extreme example, few emotions are as sad as the return from a dream holiday, especially if it’s been in a completely different place from your home or simply, if you just had the best vacations of your life. Returning to a routine can be a considerable shock, but if you follow our tips you some may keep vacation time on: Look at your pictures once again If you have the place where you´ve been in your head, it´s like you´re still there. If it is still difficult to do so, go over and over your photos, show them to everyone, it doesn’t matter that you get annoying, what matters here is your mood. If you have time, make an Instagram album with the best pics and keep remembering the best moments. Remember, if your head is still there, you are there too. Photo: GoodNCrazy Do not change your diet If you are lucky enough to live in a cosmopolitan city, I’m sure you’ll find a restaurant serving food from your last destination. If you went to Morocco, for instance, you might want to find out where to get the best tagine of the city, but if you had the best vacations of your life in Italy, you’ll have to find the best pizzeria and eat the best of the Italian cuisine. The point is that this small thing will allow your stomach to feel on vacation. I know, it is not the same, but it is better than nothing. Autumnal landscapes in Europe: Krakow, Ljubljana and Toulouse

There are cities that get indescribably charming when the autumn comes. Some of those cities, like Krakow, get loaded with intense colors forming a very particular combination of dyes, which could even get creepy if you imagine for a second the dyed brown and gray colors around the Auschwitz and Birkenau concentration camps (very near Krakow). It is a treat to stroll the streets of Ljubljana right after the end of the summer. Another city that you can visit this fall is Toulouse; do you want to know why? Keep reading. The gray dyes of Auschwitz and Birkenau , Krakow Poland still smells of concentration camps and gray dyes, which actually become more intense when autumn arrives. A few kilometers from Krakow, you’ll find two of the biggest former Nazi camps in the world Auschwitz and Birkenau. The landscape is quite dark; you could feel the pain and smell the desperation of the ones that once inhabited these places. When autumn comes, some weird feelings can attack you. It is certainly an unforgettable and very important place to visit and learn (so something like this does not happen again).  Visiting the barracks where the victims of the terrible Holocaust were clogged, the gas chambers, the crematoria and even the railway on which trains came full of prisoners, is a unique experience. I can assure you that being there, will give you goosebumps. These camps have become a museum to remember a cruel period of history that we hope will never happen again. Next Stop: Prague

Prague, also known as the Golden City or the City of a Hundred Spires, is really quite magical with its palatial buildings and many turrets. It’s not hard to imagine why it feels that you are in a fairy tale.   The Town Hall’s Astronomical Clock More than likely you have already heard of it a number of times, since it is the most famous medieval clock on the planet and it has been in the Town Hall clock tower since 1490, when it was built by the well-known master clockmaker Hanus. You can see it for yourself in the Clock Tower, which is nearby the Tyn Church. You won’t want to miss seeing the parade of the 12 apostles that takes place on every hour. It’s also an ideal spot to take a snapshot of the Old Town Square. Photo: Klearchos Kapoutsis Prague Castle and the Golden Lane Once you’ve arrived at the Prague Castle, which is from the ninth century, you will soon realize that you are looking at the largest medieval castle in the world. It really is an impressive sight. It’s not a medieval fortress but rather a group of palaces set amongst a maze of narrow streets. Life in the Czech capital revolves around this castle, and in fact the city was once built around it. Inside, one of the most famous and popular streets is the Golden Lane. Full of small, colorful houses, this street can make time stand still. And it’s interesting to know that number 22 was once the home of Franz Kafka himself in the early twentieth century. This place was...

The keys to the TOKYO 2020 Olympic Games

Not Madrid nor Istambul. It wasn´t to be. Tokyo will organise Olympic Games for a second time after the ones in 1964. This time around it will be a much more modern and even futuristic event that will most likely require a higher budget. The Japanese Government will invest over $83 million to transform the city and build an olympic village that meets the IOC´s expectations in just seven years. The 2020 Olympic Games will take place from the 24th of July to the 9th of August and the Paralympics from the 25th of August to the 6th of September. Tokyo has a population of over 13 million people, a budget of over $83 million and everything to do. They´ve already built 43% of the Olympic Village that will be reduced to a radius of 5 miles. 28 out of the 31 venues will be located inside this radius. None of them will be over 30 minutes away from each other. Photo: Kamemaru2000 Although the Japanese still have to build almost everything, Japan´s economic fluidity will not be an impediment. Among other things, they still have to build a velodrome, a colosseum with badminton and basketball courts on the island of Ariake, a volleyball stadium with capacity for 15,000, various hockey pitches with capacity for 10,000 in Yashio or the cycling track that will be built close to the 1964 Olympic Stadium, which will be remodeled and modernised. Among sporting novelties, wrestling is back. With 95 votes in favour, this modality imposed itself over baseball and squash. However, wrestling is still a sport that has been present in Olympic Games...

App of the month: Jet Lag App

If you are a constant traveler and suffer the discomforts of jet lag, here you’ll get to know a useful application for you to download to your tablet or mobile phone. It is very effective!  What is it? It is a tool that works with your usual sleep pattern, your flight hours and the time difference between your starting point and destination to suggest you a strategy to minimize the effects of jet lag. Why does Jet Lag occur? Long flights don’t give enough time to our bodies to get used to a change of time zone mostly, because our biological clock gets desynchronized. You’ll notice it immediately, because jet lag involves a series of very annoying and, in some cases durable, symptoms. The most common of these symptoms is fatigue and feeling permanently sleepy, but some people can also have digestive problems (including vomiting), memory loss, dehydration, loss of appetite, disorientation, , apathy and irritability. This doesn’t happen for everyone though. The longer is the flight and, of course, the more time zones you’ll travel, the more you’ll notice the effects of jet lag. Ah ! as a curious fact, jet lag can be also called “the time zone change syndrome” or , much more complicated, ” desynchronosis”. We tend to notice it less if we travel westward, because time lengthens to our body clock. However, when we travel eastwards, jet lag is noticed significantly more. Our app of the month is the Jet Lag App. This review was written by Diana, one of our external bloggers. My personal review: For just 2.63 Euro, Jet Lag App will...
