Tabasco Disco Gay is one of the most well-known bars in the Florence nightlife although it doesn´t mean that it´s attended by everyone. The story of the place starts in 1974 when it opened it´s doors becoming the first gay disco in the Italian city.
It´s situated close to Piazza della Signoria in the heart of Florence. Tabasco is located in the crypt of St. Cecilia where Dante met Beatrice.
Its located is so centric but at the same time so isolated and hidden that many might go past it and not realize that they´re walking in front of one of the busiest bars.
The decoration has many original items, like stones that are over 1500 years old, statues and ancient arches. In the bar you´ll meet very friendly people, the most exquisite drinks and rooms that project different curious videos.
The place closes in the early morning and it´s open all year round although the best time to go there is between April and October.
