Turning popular culture into a corporate event is always a risk when it comes to creating festivals or cultural events of all kinds. Today, the cities of the world invest in creating events, festivals, concerts, exhibitions and political actions, with the targeted reason to be better outlined in the international arena, making the city itself a competent city, cosmopolitan, politically correct while criticism of the political contexts are generated by its governments . Thus, the profile of a postmodern city has all these ingredients, there is no homophobia, you demonstrate on the streets if it´s a protest, there is tolerance towards immigration and the residence of foreigners, art and culture from all over the world is consumed, and there is a respect for the multiplicity of cultures, its meetings and tangents, and production of new knowledge. Nothing could be more utopian. The truth is that today, the EU implies a state of xenophobia, homophobia, misogyny and ultra right fascism that is eating away the foundations of the meaning of its existence. While the “alleged” reason for the formation of the European Union was stopping the possibility of another World War, that war has now gone to the people, usually minorities inhabiting the continent. And that is the current state of the political and economic global system: we are all minorities.
